Flyers 900-964

In 1970, City Transit bought a single E700 Western Flyer trolley coach, the first new trolleybus in the USA since 1955. It was one-of-a-kind, with the body shell from Toronto production, the motor from ex-Peoples Railway Brill 37, the controller from ex-Peoples Brill 42, and the air compressor from ex-Columbus Marmon 627. The highly audible motor-driven alternator/blower was new from GE. Assembly of 900 was in Toronto from the above components.

Production E800 coaches 901-964 were ordered in 1975, and are identical to 343 ETBs procured by San Francisco, save for the wheelchair lifts, air conditioning, and cushioned seats. The last of these coaches ran in 1999.
